JERSEY CITY – A Jersey City woman who worked as a teacher’s aide at a Port Liberte daycare center was arrested at her home on Tuesday on child abuse charges, according to a report on NJ.com
The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office has charged the former Sunnyside aide with child abuse and endangering the welfare of a child, according to the report, for allegedly hitting a two-year old, pushing this same child to the floor, and dragging the child across a room by the hair. The alleged abuse took place in April, according to NJ.com.
A Central Judicial Processing judge has set the aide’s bail at 50,000, according to the web site, and the aide has been told to avoid all contact with the alleged victim and other minors.
This teacher’s aide is the fourth person to be arrested on alleged child abuse charges at this same daycare center this year.
