Blogger questioned by Hoboken police

HOBOKEN AND BEYOND -- Two detectives from the Hoboken Police Department questioned Hoboken-based blogger Nancy Pincus on Aug. 22 about one of a series of satirical entries she posted on her website, Grafix Avenger.

The site frequently takes aim at Mayor Dawn Zimmer's political enemies. It also posts graphics about them, as well as non-political items such as recipes.

Pincus is a member of the Hoboken Zoning Board, allied with Zimmer.

Police were apparently concerned about the content of an Aug. 15 posting which was the fourth in a series of parody letters to the FBI mockingly speculating on a current investigation of possible e-mail tampering in Hoboken City Hall.

This letter differed from others in that it talked about wanting to join the FBI, saying "I've always wanted to shoot someone. I'd get a gun, right? Well, I'd definitely use it. Alot. Maybe every day ... Only do I ask questions first THEN shoot?" It then mentions that she has a list of people to arrest in town, and that she could shoot their door knob if they didn't answer, or "apply a Vulcan death grip." She gives specific streets and hints about where some of their homes are.

Pincus confirmed that the officers had visited her home, but said that she believed this was part of an effort to silence her, calling it “political intimidation." She also said she was threatened with arrest if she tried to blog about the visit.

“That’s why I didn’t blog about it,” she said, noting that some of the questions they asked her were about her position as a member of the Zoning Board.

Pincus said she believed that the visit was part of an attempt by Zimmer opponents to create a controversy with the aim of removing her from the board. Pincus’ blogs have been controversial in the past, particularly two, one depicting public officials in a bowl of turds -- which she said was taken out of context. In another post, Pincus used a well-known graphic from a Nazi propaganda film as a backdrop for a political satire against Councilwoman Beth Mason, who is a convert to the Jewish faith. While the image showed no Nazi symbols, some of the City Council called for Pincus to be removed from the board.

“This is their second shot,” Pincus said, in reference to the recent visit by police to her home. “This is purely political.”

Same old, same old from LANE. Loves to use people's names and leak information. This is just like when LANE's HobokenQuestioner ID on Patch said he knew everyone on Patch was a single Zimmer blogger from upstate but refused to say who. LANE always has some lame excuse for not proving any of his paranoid fantasies to be true.

You're an idiot LANE. We know who you think khoboken is based on saying Alan. Any idiot can tell they aren't the same people. Almost any idiot except you, LANE. For a guy with no job and nothing to do for years but blog you suck at it LANE.

Khoboken lots of people know exactly who you are so you aren't fooling anyone. You left trails of evidence that proves who you are, but that is for another day. Have fun walking your dog pal!

Ass of Diamonds

A friend pointed out your post from 2:30 in the morning where you ask how "Alan puts up with it" after making your ususal disgusting remarks. Who the eff is Alan? If that crack is meant to make me or anyone else think that you know who I am, you are way off base, not even in the stadium and an even bigger jackass loser than your posts prove you to be.

Did someone put a muzzle on the Ass of Diamonds? Or maybe he went to his part time job at BBB? Or maybe he went to pick up his unemployment check? Wherever the pea brain is, he actutally seems to believe that anyone with a gown up level of intelligence thinks that Nancy's satirical writings to the FBI are a crime. Some nonsense that the HPD thought it was serious enough to merit a full blown "criminal investigation". As if the Hoboken PD is not known for having run this type of intimidation scam in the past for the Old Guard. He and Timmy are two sissies that cant deal with the fact that a girl verbally and graphixally ripped them new rectums, and most deservedly so. Doesnt mean they get to bring in the Brown Shirts. And as for the faux outrage mounted on an easel over a little fecal humor atyour expense - get over it.

Perhaps the reason people are not discussing the hospital here is the same reason nobody is discussing baseball, global warming or evolution -it has nothing to do with the article under discussion. It seems that you are the one attempting to create a "diversion", presumably because police misconduct is not a subject you wish to have discussed.

Could all of this ridiculous banter be a diversion to keep the public's attention away from the scandalous deal that has been struck to unload the hospital at any cost?

Why are people not up in arms over the bankruptcy, the $600,000 gift given to the former hospital head, the $11 million gift given to the hospital by our budget busting Gov. just days before the bankruptcy and let us not forget the countless businesses that the mayor left hanging out to dry with the forced $37 million bankruptcy.

I can't wait to find out what other "compromises" were made in an effort to rid us of the hospital.

Ace - you posted: "Pincus you are the one who leaked it to the media. So be careful with your lies before the police show up at your door again with a subpeona and search warrant for your computer." That sounds like a threat - pretty ironic given that the making of purported "threats" on a blog is what Ms. Pincus was supposedly being investigated for. Are you saying you can somehow influence the Hoboken Police Dept to take such a step?

Ace - since this story is about the reported police investigation of Ms. Pincus's satirical letter to the FBI, I hope you will excuse us for jumping to the conclusion that your posting might relate to that. FYI - the police will not be the ones who determine whether Ms. Pincus broke the law - most grade schoolers know that is not what police are empowered to do. As for their decision to "investigate," I hope it was based on legitimate and legally defensible law enforcement concerns. If it was not, then the officers involved have created enormous potential liability for both themselves personally and the City they serve. Let's hope that the detectives who were simply doing as instructed by their chain of command don't let themselves be thrown under the bus and take the blame for the actions of their superiors and possibly elected officials.

The little man of a thousand screen names is working awfully hard today. That talent of tossing in random lies is so well known to everyone, it's his calling card. But what happened to his ghostwriting column at Hoboken411? A little legal matter impeding his sewerage efforts there?

Grafix Avenger should not write on on open legal, especially if there was actionable threats made. Any lawyer would probably advise likewise.

I am not the police so they will determine whether or not Pincus broke the law by threatening to shoot at someone's front door. Clearly the police believe it is serious enough to investigate.

My post was in response to the Nazi imagery that Pincus used. It wasn't illegal, but it was about as stupid as sticking a wet finger in an electrical socket. It was a violation of the public's trust that our officials won't act like tasteless idiots.

Ace - I'm trying to follow your last post. You analagize Pincus to McGreevy and Weiner saying they did nothing illegal but resigned anyway for breaching the public trust. Are you saying Ms. Pincus, in your opinion, also did nothing illegal but the police were justified in investigating her for "breaching the public trust?"

Pincus knows she was wrong. If she had any merit she would have blogged about it. She got caught acting like a Bouchdag yet again!

Hey khoboken you are the ass. Even in democracy there is a limit threats and hate speech. Also, public officials are held to a higher standard. Nothing McGreevy or Weiner did was illegal but they broke the public trust so they resigned. Pincus is offensive and a disgrace to the Board of Adjustment. She knows she is toxic waste which is why she gave up her seat on the Democratic Committee because she knows the public at large would reject her behavior. Keep defending her because it just makes you look like the scum of the Earth that you are!

Mile Square View notes the known facts in the story. The Jersey Journal reported a complaint originated from Council members Beth Mason, Tim Occhipinti and Mason political operative Lane Bajardi citing "law enforcement sources."

Ass of diamonds

To the contrary, I bow down to your jackassedness. Thanks for explaining just what your objective is - you dont like what Nancy wirtes so she has to resign or stop posting. Ever hear of the effing constitution, moron? It is not up to you, or the objects of Nancy's satire, to determine what is or is not "embarassing" to the mayor and send police officers to someone's house. That is Nazism. Being afraid to speak because the police will show up at your door. And please stop the pious bleating about being offended. Perry K could never write funny and biting satire as Nancy. Now you want to send the police back to Nancys house with a subpeona becasue she leaked the story AFTER TIMMAY's dramamtic reading and a request for city counsel to prepare a resolutio to remove her becasue she was under "criminal investigation"? And you talk about Nazism???? Do you read your crap before you post it? Talk about the absence of a filter - pot meet kettle.

Folks - we are getting off track here. This story does not, at this point, have anything to do with Mason and certainly does not have anything to do with the religious symbols she chooses to wear. It has everything to do with the misuse of police power for political purposes, likely at the behest of elected officials. The pretense used, if reported correctly, was laughable and will not withstand legal scrutiny. Heads will likely role over this - let's hope it will be the heads of those who hatched this plot, not the heads of the detectives who simply followed instructions from within their chain of command.

Hey LANE-of-diamonds, even Augie knows this is your scam. It's in print. How did Pincus leak it to the press when your moron puppet Timmy leaked it at the city council 2 weeks ago, LANE? Augie ain't no friend of Pincus. You 3 cowards are the ones who reached out to him. Everybody knows it's you, moron. It's a small town and your team has a shallow bench, LANE.

You're done. Make up all the names you want. They all have the same stink of hate and paranoia, LANE.

Khoboken how about you don't refer to a religious symbol as an "effing cross". How disgusting and disrespectful to Christians. But what else should expected from a group lead by a woman who berated a priest. Your self loathing has reached an all time low. How does Alan put up with it?

KHoboken you come off like an ignorant fool here. Wearing a cross makes it impossible to be offended by Nazi imagery? Don’t you know part of the reason the holocaust occurred was because the entire world should have been offended immediately and wasn’t? How dare you now claim there are specifications on who can and cannot be offended by hate. Shame on you!

Pincus brags about shaking her proverbially family tree and having a lawyer fall out, but now says police bullied her. Hey moron, call a lawyer. Tell them you will not answer questions without an attorney present. They can’t question you without legal counsel once you ask for it. You have the right to remain silent. Giving up that right is what has repeatedly gotten you into trouble.

You complain your child is traumatized but threatening to shoot at the door of homes where children live isn’t potentially traumatizing to them? That threat invited the police to your home because you have no filter. You are an unneeded embarrassment to the Mayor, City Council, and Board of Adjustments.

It is amazing that such well educated people defend hate because they themselves hate their political adversaries so much. If Perry Klauseen threatened to shoot down Mayor Zimmer’s door Pincus would be outraged. Yet, here she is again always the victim. Typical bully. Once she gets called out on her behavior she tries to act like she is the wronged party. Having such an immature person vote on zoning matters truly disturbs me.

Here is some advice, shut down the blog or step down from the Board of Adjustments, because it just creates a conflict our City doesn’t need when we are trying to deal with important issues.
