HOBOKEN – If you live or work anywhere in northern Hoboken, as we at The Reporter do, you’ve probably noticed the low-flying helicopters today. One reader also noticed them in Jersey City. Don’t be alarmed, it’s not an invasion ordered by Gov. Christie.

At least, we think not.

According to Hoboken city spokesman Juan Melli, the helicopters are engaging in some type of Super Bowl-related security drill being administered by the Department of Energy.

The drill is possibly a joint operation between several federal and state agencies, said Melli.
