Funeral services took place Jan. 15 at Christ the King Church, Jersey City, for Lance R. Mixson, 41. He passed away Jan. 9. A lifelong resident of Jersey City, he was the son of Eleanor Mixson, and the late James Edward Mixson, Sr. Lance was a graduate of St. Bridget’s Grammar School in 1985, and attended James J. Ferris High School and Vocational School. Lance worked for the Incinerator Authority of Jersey City, and while living in Arlington, Texas, he worked for the Mansfield School District. Lance leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Eleanor Mixson, his brothers, James Edward Mixson, Jr. (Lakeia), Kirk Mixson, and sisters, Vanessa Hemingway (Jerome), Barbara Sherman (Kevin), Debra Grant (Alfred), Shawnette Richardson (Curtis), Teresa Grant (Charles) and Deneen Mixson; 24 nieces and nephews; 13 great nieces and nephews; also survived by aunts and uncles, Marvin Mixson, Thomas Mixson, and Albert Clawson; aunts, Marlene Jackson, Gloria Hawkins(Cliff), BarbaraAnn Smith (James), Clarastine Arkbar; and a host of other relatives and friends. Services arranged by the Jackson Funeral Residence, Jersey City.
