HOBOKEN - How did former Mayor David Roberts, hospital administrators, parish missioners, school leaders, and yes, even bartenders, respond to and cope with the events of Sept. 11 in Hoboken? Tonight, Wednesday, Sept. 14, a panel discussion will answer those questions.
The discussion, scheduled for 7 p.m. at All Saints Church (707 Washington St.), will be moderated by Diana Henriques, a senior financial writer for The New York Times.
"9-11 Hoboken Remembers" is advertised as "a moderated discussion and oral history event."
"Experience a wide angle view of Hoboken on 9/11/01 through the eyes of panelists who were 'on duty' in service to our community that day," according to a poster for the program.
Sandy O'Connor Carey, who lost her first husband Keith in the attacks, worked with her current husband John Carey to organize the event.
The event is free and open to the public, and is presented in part by the Hoboken Historical Museum, the Hoboken Public Library, and All Saints Church. - Ray Smith
