Submitted to the editor today: To the editor,
I write to thank Hoboken voters for all of their support, encouragement and great ideas over the course of this campaign.
The success of my Council slate, Carol Marsh, Ravi Bhalla and David Mello means there will be a majority on the City Council committed to making the fundamental changes Hoboken needs.
The outcome of the Mayor's race is yet to be determined. Our campaign stood up against outside money and development interests and well-organized interest groups, and we more than held our own. I am ahead of Mr. Cammarano by 265 votes among the well over 11,000 people that voted at the polls by machine on Tuesday. Mr. Cammarano has pulled a little ahead based on the absentee ballots- a large number of which were defective on their face and already thrown out. Several hundred more absentee ballots were collected by a select few individuals raising concerns about whether this was done in accordance with Election laws.
I ask for everyone's patience. The Mayoral election is far too close to call and we are approaching the process methodically in ensure that every legal vote--but only every legal vote-- counts.
I will keep everybody updated as new developments unfold. Thanks again for all of your support.
Thank you.
Dawn Zimmer
Hoboken 4th Ward Councilwoman
& Mayoral Candidate

I would say there is a grave yard full of skeletons when a candidate win less than 50% of machine votes and win 77% of the absentee ballots.
if there is an investigation, at least it will make it clearly apparent that george destefano and michelle russo were working for zimmer on the absentees. she'll drag her own skeletons out of the closet.
