ALL TOWNS – Some have called the upcoming World Series between the New York Yankees and Philadelphia Phillies the “Amtrak series” because both towns are conveniently located a few Northeast Corridor stops away. But NJ Transit is sending out a press release calling it the “NJ Transit Series.”

It is true that you can get from New York City/Newark to Trenton via NJ Transit, then transfer to a SEPTA train to Philly. It will cost less than Amtrak, but probably take you longer.

NJ Transit and connecting SEPTA tickets can be purchased at NJ Transit stations.

One problem, though – SEPTA may strike on Oct. 31. Check SEPTA.org for updates.

Citizens Bank Park in Philly is served by SEPTA’s Broad Street subway line. Once you get to 30th Street station in Philly, you can stay on for an extra stop.

Yankee Stadium is served by the Manhattan subways on the D and 4 lines. You can take NJ Transit buses or trains from Hoboken and other Hudson County towns into NYC and then get onto the subway. Or try the PATH trains.

Game 2 – Yankee Stadium – Thursday, Oct. 29

Game 3 – Citizens Bank Park (Philly) – Saturday, Oct. 31

Game 4 – Citizens Bank Park – Sunday, Nov. 1

Game 5 – Citizens Bank Park – Monday, Nov. 2

Game 6 – Yankee Stadium (NYC) – Wednesday, Nov. 4

Game 7 – Yankee Stadium – Thursday, Nov. 5
