HUDSON COUNTY -- When you're beating the heat this weekend, pick up your local Hudson Reporter newspaper. Bring it down the shore, read it on Boulevard East or Washington Street.

There's lots of news we're covering and uncovering in Jersey City, Bayonne, Hoboken, Weehawken, Secaucus, North Bergen, Guttenberg, Union City, and West New York.

For instance: If so many people in Hoboken were protesting recent council candidate Michael Russo, why did he win by such a large margin? In Jersey City, who owns the historic Loew's theater, and what is its future? And in Secaucus, why does the 8 o'clock whistle still blow every night? Should we duck and cover?

Also, these newspapers will contain absolutely nothing about Rep. Anthony Weiner or any other legislator across the river.

There's so much to read, so look for your paper on your doorstep, at Town Hall, at the library, or at the corner store. Or come to our main office in Hoboken to pick one up. Or you can just click on HudsonReporter.com starting Sunday.
