Weehawken library director retires

Phillip R. Greco, director of the Weehawken Free Public Library, has retired effective June 30 after 17 years of service, Mayor Richard F. Turner announced on Wednesday.

“Mr. Greco has served as Library Director since 1994,” the mayor said. “During his tenure, he has overseen the library transformation into the facility we have today, has spearheaded the growth of programs, and has expanded services almost unimagined decades ago.”

Holly L. Pizzuta, a former member of the Weehawken Library Board of Trustees, has accepted the position of librarian, director of operations and administration to replace Greco. Kelly Fitzgerald will remain as the librarian, director of services and programs.
