JERSEY CITY AND BEYOND - Dr. Carlos Hernandez, president of New Jersey City University,
announced today that he will retire from his position at the end of the 2011-2012 academic year.
A former professor of psychology and vice president of academic affairs, Hernandez is credited with expanding the university to include the College
of Professional Studies, a new college of arts and sciences, and College of Education.
Hernandez's last day on the job after 40 years at NJCU will be June 30, 2012.

And, NJCU, according to the 10/05/09 Star-Ledger, has the highest "failure to graduate" rate in New Jersey.
It's a university President's major responsibility -- to try to have the lowest failure-to-graduate" score.
So, by the NJCU Board of Trustees -- failing to remove Hernandez because he committed fraud to become NJCU's president --- thousands of NJCU most likely dropped out of that school.
When the NJCU Board decided to hire an unqualified academic vice president, and then president -- it did immeasurable harm to thousands of first-generation college students.
