To the Editor:
To Mayor Smith:

I’m writing on behalf of the Korean War Veterans Association of Hudson County to thank you and your staff for the efforts to move the Korean Monument located in Dennis P. Collins Park. I think that the monument is now in a better place so that all of Bayonne’s citizens become aware of the sacrifice of 25 young men from Bayonne who gave their life during the Korean War.

We must never forget the sacrifice of these young warriors who went to war to save our country from the spread of communism and who enabled the rest of us veterans to continue our lives, marry, raise children, and enjoy our grandchildren until the day when we are once again reunited with our fallen comrades in the next life.

We plan to have a ceremony at the monument in the spring. Semper Fidelis.

RALPH PASQUA

Commander
