Funeral mass was performed Dec. 10 at St. Martha’s Church, Point Pleasant, for Jeremiah M. ‘Jerry’ O’Brien, 77. He passed away Dec. 5 at his home in Brick Township. Born in Hoboken, Jerry resided in Secaucus for many years before moving to Brick seven years ago. He graduated in 1952 from Saint Michael’s High School in Hoboken and served his country in the U.S. Army. Jerry was captain of the Hoboken Fire Department for 25 years, retiring in 1984. He was predeceased by his parents Michael and Anna O’Brien and five siblings. He is survived by his wife, Rosemary O’Brien, his sons and daughters in law, Christopher and Angela, Stephen and Heather, daughter and son in law Suzanne and Gus Makris, seven grandchildren, and a sister, Mary O’Brien. Services arranged by the O’Brien Funeral Home, Brick.
