Gaughan won't seek sixth term as Jersey City Ward D councilman

JERSEY CITY -- William Gaughan, the councilman for Ward D in Jersey City, announced Monday he won't seek a sixth term during this May's council and mayor elections.

Gaughan is 74 and was first elected 20 years ago, in 1993, according to NJ.com.

Gaughan owns Houghton Funeral Home on Summit Avenue.
