A mass of Christian burial was held Jan. 5 at St. Aloysius Church for Dorothy C. Chelak, 85. She passed away Jan. 1. Dorothy was a lifelong Jersey City resident, a homemaker and a long and faithful parishioner of St. Aloysius Church. She was employed by Colgate Palmolive Co. for several years before leaving to start a family. Dorothy was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Michael Chelak; mother of Kathleen Pearl Veltri, Michele Ann Aldrich, Maureen Jean Chelak and Pearl Marie Earls; motherinlaw of John Veltri and the late James Earls; grandmother of Crystal Nicole Aldrich, Michael Thomas Aldrich, Shaun Patrick Veltri and Branden James Earls; sister of John Bolles, Rosemary Cuccaro and the late Anson, Robert, Edward, Joseph Bolles and Margaret Bartlet. Dorothy is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Services arranged by the McLaughlin Funeral Home, Jersey City.
