The country's oldest senator will be leaving the Senate after 2014.

Frank Lautenberg (D-NJ) told the Star Ledger on Thursday that he won't be seeking re-election next year.

Launtenberg, who turned 89 last month, said he wants to focus on new gun safety laws during his remaining time in the legislature.

Lautenberg has served for more than 30 years.
