The tie was short-lived as the Comets went on a four-goal rampage as Alexandro Gonzalez, Allen McComb and James Bajor poured in goals to make it 5-1, Comets. Assisting on the scoring blitz for the Comets were James Bajor, Joshua Verzosa and Allen McComb. While their offensive ranks dominated, the Comets’ defensive unit kept the Sonics’ sharpshooters at bay as Drew Radil, Michael Lago and Elliott Santana ball-hawked at every turn. Late in the bout, the Sonics finally got some breathing room as Ajay Lal zipped the ball to Kevin Aguilar, who rocketed a shot to net, cutting the Comets’ advantage to 5-2.
As the Sonics tried to steal the momentum, the Comets quaked the net again as James Bajor assisted Alexandro Gonzalez on his third goal of the game, making it 6-2, Comets. Down by four goals with under 10 minutes remaining, the Sonics kept battling as Brandon Ferreira and Chloe Gregory fortified the defensive end, while James Johnson cashed in with a goal off an assist by Shashwat Punjani to narrow the fray to 6-3, Comets. As time ticked down, the Comets closed the deal when Natalleyah Teixeira fought the ball to James Bajor, who tallied his third goal to clinch the Comets’ 7-3 victory.
