Municipal budget workshops to begin Saturday

HOBOKEN – Mayor Dawn Zimmer has called for several budget workshops for residents to discuss the recently-introduced 2013 budget.

The $104 million budget was introduced by the City Council at a meeting Wednesday night. A special meeting is scheduled for April 10 at City Hall at 7 p.m. for a public hearing.

Before then, workshops are scheduled over three dates.

On Saturday, March 9 a three-part workshop will be held in the City Council chambers, 94 Washington St., from 2 to 7 p.m. The workshops will be conducted by Corporation Counsel from 2 to 3:30 p.m., by the City Business Administrator from 3:30 to 5 p.m. and by the City Director of Development from 5 to 7 p.m.

Subsequent workshops will be held on Wednesday, March 13 and Thursday, March 21.
