Kathleen was a graduate of St. Joseph Grammar School and Dickinson High School, Jersey City. She received her BA in special education and general elementary and her MA’s in urban education and counseling at Jersey City State College. She earned her doctorate in Educational Leadership from NOVA Southeastern University, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. Kathleen published a number of articles and presented workshops in special education, vocational education and educational leadership throughout the U.S. and Europe. She was honored by the Scared Straight Program at Rahway Prison and received the Christopher Columbus Award for Outstanding Community Service. Kathleen was very giving of her time and resources to numerous charitable organizations. She was an avid skier and enjoyed cooking, traveling, playing golf, hiking, biking and the arts. Everyone has known Kate to have a gentle soul whose life devotion to helping others had no bounds and she will be forever in our hearts.
Kathleen was the wife of 31 years to Alexander “Sandy” DeNoble; mother of Jennifer (Wallace) Mineo and husband Sal; sister of Mary LeMore and husband Jerry, Loretta Fulton and husband Tom, Thomas Purcell and wife Adriana, and the late Edward Purcell and his surviving wife Pam; aunt of Christopher LeMore, Toni Ann DeNoble, Martin Salazar, Sean and Veronica Purcell; also survived by many family members and friends.
