Mayor Mark A. Smith has announced that the Recreation Division will offer tennis lessons for ages 3-14, every Wednesday, from September 25 to October 30. The U.S. Sports Institute (USSI), following U.S. Tennis Association (USTA) curriculums, provides a fast and easy way to develop individual skills. The program offers a wide variety of drills and games suited to the ability level and age of every person who attends.

The program includes the USTA’ Quick Start Tennis Format. At every level, participants will learn the basic fundamentals in stroke production, court movement, and footwork skills, all in a low-pressure environment. Most important, it’s all about fun, with games, games, and more games during each session. Group and individual games are played in all sessions, which run for six weeks. Makeup classes will take place after the last scheduled session.

The 3-4 year-olds meet from 3:30– 4:15 p.m.; 5-7 year-olds meet from 4:30– 5:30 p.m.; 8-10 year-olds meet from 5:30-6:30p.m.; and 11-14 year-olds meet from 6:30-7:30 p.m.

The fee for ages 5-14 is $90/participant. The fee for ages 3-4 is $79/participant.
