When I was growing up in Hoboken we had a few parks and lots of ice cream parlors to hang out in. Today, most of the ice cream parlors are gone but the parks are still here.
When I was young, the only waterfront I knew was "the docks" where my uncles worked. When the ships no longer docked in Hoboken, the waterfront was neglected and unsafe.
Today we have clean beautiful parks for all to enjoy on our waterfront. What a pleasure for me to take my granddaughter to Pier A or Sinatra Park and enjoy her playing or just relaxing in the beautiful open space.
Thank you, Mayor Russo and your administration for giving us such wonderful new parks and maintaining our precious older parks which hold so many loving memories for us. Because of you and all your efforts Hoboken is the greatest city to live, work and play.
