To the Editor:

I would like to take this opportunity to clarify for your readers that the American Conference on Diversity continues to serve Bayonne along with all municipalities in Hudson County and indeed the state. Our chapters have not disbanded but have rather restructured to better serve the needs of our state. Bayonne, along with the rest of Hudson County, will be served by the Northern Regional Community Network. The chairs of our former chapters in northern New Jersey will serve as the leadership team, including Andrew Platizky, who served as chair of the Bayonne chapter. We are grateful to the members of the Bayonne chapter for their support of the organization over so many years and are especially appreciative of the late Genie K. Brown, who led the chapter for so many years; she is missed. As American Conference on Diversity transitions into Regional Community Networks, Bayonnites, along with community members and organizations throughout New Jersey, will have the opportunity to be recognized for their humanitarian efforts. Bayonne’s high schools have participated in American Conference on Diversity’s youth programs, such as Lead for Diversity, and will continue to have that opportunity. I encourage members of the Bayonne community to join with colleagues from Hudson County and other northern New Jersey areas as the Northern Regional Community Network is formed, to enhance our capacity to reach all areas of New Jersey with our critical diversity and inclusion programs that support our mission.

President and CEO, American Conference on Diversity
