A funeral mass was offered Nov. 23 at St. Ann’s R.C. Church, Hoboken, for Robert W. Astore, 64, of Hoboken. He passed away unexpectedly at Raritan Bay Medical Center in Perth Amboy on Nov. 18. A proud U.S. Army Veteran and recipient of the Distinguished Service Medal during the Vietnam conflict, Robert was employed for 39 years with the U.S. Post Office as a mail handler in the Jersey City branch where he established The Hoboken and Hudson County Postal Workers War Veterans Association. Bob was also a member of the Disabled American War Veterans of Hoboken. He was predeceased by his former wife, Mary in 2002. Surviving are his wife, Rosa Delgado Astore; and their daughter, Daniella Delgado. Bob will be sadly missed by his two sisters, Roseann Marano and Patricia Wakefield; and his nieces and nephews, Nicholas, Brandon, Ashley, and Jennifer.
