SchoolPlus Hudson is an academic enrichment program with branches in Hoboken and Jersey City that offers classes in Chess, Math, Creative Writing, Languages and serves over 200 students.

On Saturday, Nov. 9 the program had its second Open Chess Tournament with over 40 young chess players, ages 5-12, competing in two categories, Beginners and Intermediate Players.

The players came from Jersey City and Hoboken, Bayonne and Weehawken, as well as other towns in Hudson County.

The children played a total of three rounds then competed in a runoff for the top three spots in each category.
