Funeral mass took place Dec. 7 at St. Joseph’s Church for Edward Gentile, 85, a lifelong resident of Jersey City. He passed away Dec. 2. Edward was employed as a crane operator for the railroad and upon retirement, worked for the Jersey City Board of Education in the security department.

Edward was a member of the Columbus Club in Jersey City and of St. Joseph’s Church. Edward was predeceased by his wife Ann; father of George (Angie), Angela Sherboneau (the late Michael), Gina King (Jerry), Denise Kelly, Edward (Andrea) and the late Frank and Rosemary; brother of Caroline Thompson, Dolores DeMaio, Joann Santoro and the late Beamin, Samuel, Eleanor Reilly Anthony and George; grandfather of Nicole Pennington, Angel Thompson, Gerri Ann King, Ann Marie Gentile, Russell King, Danielle Brink, Patrick King, Frank Soluri and Alley Fonseca; also survived by ten great-grandchildren. Services arranged by the McLaughlin Funeral Home, Jersey City.
