A funeral service took place Jan. 21 for Joseph G. Mincieli, 94, of Holiday City West, a section of Berkeley Township. He passed away Jan. 17 at Community Medical Center, Toms River. He was born and raised in Union City and moved to Holiday City West in 1984. Joseph served in the United States Army during World War II. He was the owner and operator of Weehawken Fuel Oil Company in Union City for over 30 years. Joseph was a member of the VFW Silver Holiday Post 10185 and the American Legion Post 14, Union City. He was preceded in death by his wife Helen in 2000, his son Joseph J. in 1991, and his granddaughter Joann and her husband Brad Piercy.

Surviving are his daughter Phyllis Mincieli of South Plainfield, his son Vincent Mincieli, and his wife Melissa of Memphis, Tenn.; two grandchildren, Howard J. Mincieli, Stacy A. Holland, and four great grandchildren. Services arranged by the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, Toms River.
