What else are you being dishonest about?

Dear Editor

I am writing to express my frustration regarding the what seems like routine lying coming out of city hall. On February 24th the city Facebook page made a post regarding that 514 potholes were fixed to date. Yesterday, Juan Melli, the communications person for the city (also the person who controls the city Facebook page) sent out a press release stating that 284 potholes were fixed in the last week and further stating the total number of potholes fixed to date was 752. Last I checked 284 and 512 equal much more than 752, they equal 798.

The city wonders often why the pubic often questions our current administration. Throwing out random numbers on pothole repairs is low, the city is better off simply saying "we are working hard to fix potholes" without blatantly lying to the public if you lie about pothole figures then what else are you being dishonest about? This is a perfect reason why so many people discredit Dawn Zimmer's parking lot conversation with the Lt. Governor.

Rory Chadwick

Predisposition is why people like you have discounted Zimmer's version of what happened between Christie, Guadagno and Zimmer. Predisposition is also why you thought some clerical oversight was worth a letter to the editor to characterize it as part of a pattern of pathological lying.

Let's talk about what else are YOU being dishonest about? Your real beef with Zimmer. What are you really mad about that has you bitching about her night and day. It isn't about whether 798 or 752 holes were filled. What did you personally want from her that you personally didn't get? Speaking of facebook you said you would leave town by the end of the year and your business would do great in some other town. Let's start there. What's the REAL problem. Try being honest for 2 minutes.

Here's my thought,

Rory said that the city said as of February 24th, 514 potholes were fixed to date. Depending on the time of that press release, it could have had information that was a day or two old.

Rory then said that "Yesterday, Juan Melli, the communications person for the city (also the person who controls the city Facebook page) sent out a press release stating that 284 potholes were fixed in the last week and further stating the total number of potholes fixed to date was 752"

My question:

"Yesterday" is what day? The press release is dated March 5th. So I'm going to assume "yesterday is March 5."

Let's assume that Juan wrote the press release before the 5th, but dated it the 5th.

If that's the case, some of those potholes were fixed "in the last week" could be part of the February 24th number. Just a thought.

I'm just glad that potholes are being fixed. I hope bloomfield street becomes passable soon.

Rory have you found the Malaysian Airliner yet? I heard you saw it booted in Hoboken.
