To the Editor:

I’ve seen all the letters, new stories, TV commercials, and comments regarding Bayonne’s fight for a School Board Election and I just wanted to let everyone know how happy I am that Michael Alonso is running for council. Friday’s Jersey Journal said the city council could put this school board question on the ballot, at any time, with no petition needed. I asked myself, could this really be true? Turns out, it sure is. Robert Sloan, the city clerk, said “Oh yeah, the council can do it any time, just like they took it away.” I am so disappointed in my councilman. Thousands of people that live here want it, What ever happen to representing the people? Shouldn’t we be voting for people that actually want to make a difference? This time, I’m Voting Alonso. (P.S. I hope he can help out with all the litter too)

Smith should not be re-elected

In an answer to Smith reducing the budget deficit by 40%.

Any Mayor who sells property for 50% less than its value with income and does not collect taxes .................................should not be re-elected.

That's what the present Mayor Smith has done.

With the consent of all present council team

tax (property) increase for 5 years.

...... All deserve not to be Re-elected...
