Congratulations to the Bayonne High School Drama Society on a fabulous presentation of “Hairspray.” The director, Tim Craig, worked his magic, and the casting was perfect. Every student in the production brought something special to the play, which made it a wonderful success.
Danielle Baran, in the lead role as Tracy Turnblad, was brilliant and unforgettable. Her best friend played by Marygrace Smith also did an awesome job, along with the main characters and members of the ensemble. The singing, dancing, acting, and choreography of the entire staff was awesome, including the band.
The showstopper of the evening was a hilarious number performed by Dominic Crisonino and Stephen Hladik, a number that rocked the house.
I am a retired member of the Board of Education and attended the Friday performance with several friends. We are still talking about how great it was. It was a great theater experience!
