In Hoboken, mayoral candidate Dawn Zimmer has edged out opponent Peter Cammarano to take the lead in the Hoboken mayoral runoff election, 5,786 to 5,542 with 35 of 36 districts counted. However, the reported 700+ absentee ballots handed in today may make the difference when counted tomorrow morning. Hoboken beat reporter Tim Carroll reports that they may not be counted until tomorrow at 10:30 a.m. to see whom they are for.

The Hoboken council-at-large race may be easier to call. Zimmer's slate of Carol Marsh, Ravi Bhalla, and David Mello earned approximately 5,400-5,600 votes each, while Cammarano's slate lagged behind, earning 4,900-4,800 each. This was despite the fact that two members of the slate had run with and received support from former mayoral candidate Beth Mason.

In Jersey CIty, Ward A council incumbent Michael Sottolano beat out Rolando Lavarro Jr. 1,776 to 1,331.

In Jersey City Ward F, Counwilwoman Viola Richardson beat out Ronnie-Calvin Clark 1,354 to 781.
