Bayonne Bridge to close this weekend for construction

BAYONNE – The Bayonne Bridge will close from 9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 26 through 5 a.m. Monday, Feb. 29, to accommodate ongoing construction work on the “Raise the Roadway” project, the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey announced.

During the week, the bridge is closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day and overnight from 8:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. On certain weekdays the Bayonne Bridge will open a half hour earlier – at 4:30 a.m. – to provide an alternate route for drivers affected by 4:30 a.m. to 5 a.m. traffic holds on the Goethals Bridge.
