At (10-0) the Chargers have been a dominant force in the JCC of Bayonne Indoor Flag Football Sr Division. Winning by an average margin of 55-15, no one has truly tested the Chargers for four quarters. With the 2016 “Championship” title at stake, the Bengals would need a near flawless effort to down the undefeated Chargers. Trading scores in the early going, the Cifuentes siblings, Alejandro (1 TD) and Aaliyana (2 expts) put the Chargers on the board while the Bengals once again relied on the sure handed Drew Radil who notched a TD, and 2 point catch. Tied at 8-8, the Chargers’ defense started to dig in as Christopher Caballero pilfered his first of three interceptions to set up another Alejandro Cifuentes TD grab making it 14-8, Chargers. Tempting fate once more, the Bengals paid the price as the Chargers’ FS Caballero latched onto his second interception and cashed in with a “Pick Six” TD return followed by a Alejandro Cifuentes two point snare making it 22-8, Chargers. Rolling the dice again, the Bengals went back to the air but this time they found paydirt as Radil hauled in his second TD cutting the Chargers’ lead to 22-14. Staying the course with their high flying offense, the Chargers hit their mark again with TDs by Alejandro and Aaliyana Cifuentes while Kyle Arano got into the mix with a two point catch to put the Chargers up 36-14. After sprinkling short toss to Mike Piscopo and Anthony Baez, the Bengals scored again as QB Chris Ballance zipped yet another TD toss to Radil to close the gap to 36-20, Chargers. Entering the final minutes of play, the Chargers got some more breathing room as Kyle Arano pulled in a 20 yard TD strike with Alejandro Cifuentes tacking on a two point catch. Down 44-20, another miscue by the Bengals ended all hopes of an upset win as Caballero zeroed in on his third interception of the bout. Up 44-20, the Chargers capped off their “Championship” quest with an Aaliyana Cifuentes TD and a two point toss to Arano clinching a 52-20 victory.
