A funeral mass was offered Nov. 27 at St. Ann’s Church in Hoboken for Michele Spina, 85 a long time resident of Hoboken. He passed away surrounded by his loving family at home on Thanksgiving Day. Born in Monte San Giacomo (Salerno) Italy, Michele immigrated to the United States in 1972 from Schmerikon, Switzerland. He was a devoted parishioner of St. Ann’s Church. Michele was also devoted to Padre Pio. He was a retired carpenter and marble worker for over 30 years for the Miller Druck Corporation in the Bronx. He was a proud member of the Monte San Giacomo Club in the mile square city and enjoyed his family, especially summering at the Jersey Shore in his Lavallette home.

Surviving are his loving wife of 60 years, Rosaria (nee) Lisa; his son Pasquale (Lisa M. Cuthbert) and his daughter Antoinetta Tufano ( Bob); his sister Rosa Spina (Italy); his cherished grandchildren, Bergen County Sheriff Officer Michael Spina, Alani Anne Spina, Alexandra Tufano and many more nieces and nephews (Italy). A great joy in his life were the family dogs Xena and Angel.

Funeral services were provided by Failla – McKnight Memorial Home, Hoboken.
