88, passed away on December 25, 2016 at Bayshore Community Hospital in Holmdel, surrounded by his family. Richard was born on March 2, 1928 in Bayonne, where he lived until moving to Hazlet in 1958 to raise his family. He was a devout Catholic and a long time parishioner of St. Benedict Church in Holmdel. Richard was a proud member of the US Navy from 1945-1952 and served on the USS Curtiss, defending our freedom. Before retiring, Richard worked as a supervisor at NJ Turnpike Authority. Richard was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Julia Marsh. He is survived by his wife and best friend of 60 years, Marcia (Reilly) Marsh, his brother, George and his wife Katherina, his sons, Richard and wife Joy, Brian and wife Andrea, David and wife Stephanie, and Robert and his partner Carol Sheliga. Pop is also survived by his 5 grandchildren, Kristen Leigh, Daniel Charles, Matthew Peter, Julianna Grace, and Stephen Francis, whom he loved with all his heart, along with many nieces and nephews.
