97, of Branchburg, NJ, formerly of Bayonne, passed away on January 3, 2017, at the home of his son Paul, who was by his side. Louis was born in Bayonne where he resided most of his life until relocating to Branchburg this past year. Louis served his country with pride and honor in the United States Army during WWII, attaining the rank of Sergeant After his discharge from military duty, he was employed as a boilermaker/blacksmith in the ship building industry with the Boilermakers Union of Bayonne for over 20 years, retiring in 1982. Louis was a member of the Joyce-Herbert VFW Post 226. Louis was predeceased by his wife Henrietta (Kiernan) Jijak (in 2010), his son Louis Jijak Jr. (in 2016), his parents Stanislaw and Amelia (Miskiewicz) Dziek; his sister Jean Rowley; his brother William Jijak; and his daughter-in-law Colleen.
