90, a lifelong resident of Bayonne, entered into eternal rest on January 19, 2017, at Bayonne Medical Center with her family by her side. Irene was employed as a machine operator with the Best Foods Corporation in Bayonne, a position she held for 35 years prior to her retirement in 1984. Irene was predeceased by her husband Edward S. Kochanek Sr. in 2011; her parents, Anthony and Anna (Niedzwiecka) Karecki; her brother Anthony Karecki and her sisters, Harriet Kellehan, Lottie Jakubik, and Genevieve Karecki. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Christine; her son Edward Jr. and his wife Lorelei; her brother Robert Karecki; her four grandchildren, Edward Kochanek III and his wife Elena, Adrienne, Audrey, and Eric Kochanek; her great-grandson, Walter Edward Kochanek, and many nieces and nephews.
