91, a WW II veteran, retired school principal, husband and father passed away at Bayonne Medical Center on January 25, 2017 with his wife and daughter by his side. Born March 31, 1925, he was a lifelong resident of Bayonne. Bill was a member of the U.S. Marine Corps, serving in the South Pacific during World War II. Bill was a teacher, assistant principal, and principal in the Jersey City public school system, retiring after 32 years of dedicated service. Bill is survived by his wife, Germaine (DiMeola) Fischer and his daughter, Dara Fischer, a public school art teacher. Also survived by his brother Alvin and sisters-in-law Sonia and Adelle Fischer, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Ella (Wolff) Fischer and Robert Fischer, his brothers Murray, Leonard and Sheldon Fischer, and sisters Marion Lewko, Gloria Laub, and Selma Levy. In lieu of flowers, kindly donate to an animal welfare or animal rescue organization of your choice in Bill’s memory. Funeral arrangements were private.
