Woman charged with robbery and impersonating a firefighter

JERSEY CITY — On Feb. 1, Sabrina Carter, 48, was charged with impersonating a public servant as well as robbery, after she allegedly dressed up in fire gear, then allegedly went to a grocery store and allegedly stole items.
Police responded to a call at about 11:30 a.m. from the Grab N’ Go Deli on JFK Boulevard saying that people were evacuating the store. A second call said someone was in possession of a machete there.
The store owner told police that a person in firefighter gear had allegedly stolen lottery tickets, and was in possession of a large knife.
Police officials tracked down a woman allegedly running away who allegedly “discarded a black ‘Jersey City Reds’ jacket.”
Meanwhile, in a separate incident, a man was charged with stealing from a nearby fire house last week.
