Getting things started for the 2017 season, the Rockets and Comets took to the court in a JCC of Bayonne Sr. Division Indoor Soccer bout. Storming out of the gate, the Comets took a 3-0 lead as Damian Posluszny quickly hit the “Hat Trick” mark with three goals as Kasper Hooks (2) and Joyce Gabreal (1) notched assists. Dusting off after a slow start, the Rockets’ offense perked up as Raul Cortinas assisted Matteo Capurso on a scoring gem to make it 3-1, Comets. Frozen at 3-1 for over ten minutes, the Rockets tried to gain some ground as Aaliyana Cifuentes, Christopher Caballero and Jason Herbert unleashed shots on net but goal tender Sebastian Posluszny and his defensive troops led by Jacob Kowal and Khaled Rasslan helped the Comets hold the high ground. With the clock becoming a huge factor, the Rockets rolled the dice and poured all their resources into the offensive zone with Ezekiel Lupainez and Anthony Baez joining the charge. Weathering the barrage, the Comets took advantage as Sebastian Posluszny sailed a long pass to Kyle O’Hara who drilled in the game clinching goal for a 4-1 Comets’ win.
