A funeral mass was held Feb. 11 at the Our Lady of Grace Church, Hoboken, for Alice V. Growney, a lifelong resident of Hoboken. She passed away Feb. 7. Alice was a retired telephone supervisor for Verizon (formerly AT&T) in New York for many years. She was an active member of Our Lady of Grace Parish in Hoboken where she will be sorely missed. Alice was the daughter of the late Michael and Anna Albrizio, wife of the late John Growney, mother of Gail Beck and her late husband Hoboken Police Lieutenant Alan Beck; and her son John “Jack” Growney and his wife Dolores. She was the grandmother of John S. Growney, Craig Growney , and Lauren Growney; and was predeceased by her sister Ann Albrizio.
