To the Editor:
President Trump was right when he banned immigrants from seven countries. He is protecting America from radical terrorists. Those who protest that we may be shutting out a great doctor, lawyer, engineer, or scientist, I say to you, don’t we have great American doctors, lawyers, engineers, and scientists?
In 1886, France gave us the Statue of Liberty with the following inscription:
“Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, the wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me. I lift my lamp beside the golden door!”
Today, 131 years later, the statue, with the inscription, still stands. Times have changed. We still welcome immigrants, but we must be more selective.
