A funeral mass was held Feb.14 at the Immaculate Conception Church in Secaucus for former Mayor Paul Amico, 103, of Secaucus. He passed away Feb. 9 at the Little Nursing Home in Montclair. Born in New York, he was a longtime resident of Secaucus, where he served as mayor for 28 years. Paul retired as the owner and operator of Paul’s Diner when he was 43 to be a full-time public official. He served as mayor from 1964-1991.
He was a World War II veteran of the US Army. Predeceased by his wives, Catherine (Lehfeld) and Regina (Casazza) Amico, he is survived by his stepsons, Robert and Dr. Albert Casazza, eight nieces and nephews, ten grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
Services arranged by the Mack Memorial Home, Secaucus.
