A funeral mass took place Feb. 24 at Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, Jersey City, for Edward Bauch, 75. He died peacefully on Feb. 20 at Jersey City Medical Center. Jersey City born and raised, Eddie was known for his good looks, intelligence, and humor. A veteran of the US army, he was stationed in Germany right out of high school. A fun-loving man who lit up the room, Eddie loved life and enjoyed crabbing, dancing, singing, reading, completing crossword puzzles, and rooting for the NY Giants and Yankees. Little made him happier than going down the Shore with his ‘Sugar’. He was a supervisor at Colgate Palmolive and retired worker of the Jersey City Sewage Authority.
He lives on through his loving and devoted wife Mary Ann Bauch (nee Koch), sister Vera Raia, her husband Archie, and step-father Jack Healy. He was a great friend and brother-in-law to Leonard and Margaret Englese. Edward left behind his daughter Theresa Tamburri and her husband Michael, son Edward Bauch and wife Barbara, daughter Dawn Bauch-Cermak and her husband Thomas, daughter Jo-el Flanagan and her husband Joe, daughter Melissa Torres and her husband Antonio, and son Joseph Koch and his wife Elizabeth. His legacy lives on through his 14 grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and his nieces and nephews. Eddie is now at rest with his mother Veronica Healy, father Charles Bauch, aunt May Walsh, and son George Koch.
