Steam rolling along at (3-0), the Comets faced the (0-3) Sonics to close out week three of the JCC of Bayonne Indoor Soccer Sr. Division 2017 campaign. Trading goals early on, Jacob Kowal (Comets) and Jaiden Garcia (Sonics) scored as the bout had shades of a scoring duel. That all changed as the Comets’ offense and defense began to dominate. Offensively Joyce Gabreal (1 goal, 2 assists) and Damian Posluszny (2 goals) inflicted the damage to make it 4-1, Comets while Sebastian Posluszny starred in net. As the Comets hit their stride the Sonics tried to reboot their offense with Mariam Rasslan assisting Jacob Rivera on a goal to cut the Comets’ lead to 4-2. Moments later, the Comets regained a three goal advantage when Damian Posluszny zeroed in for his third goal of the game. In control and leading 5-2, the Comets added an insurance goal as Sebastian Posluszny left his defensive post just long enough to tack on a net gem for a 6-2 Comets’ lead. With still another ten minutes remaining both squads once gain squared off evenly as Nicholas DiPinto, Kailey Delauter and Sebastian Echeverry stepped up for the Sonics while Kasper Hooks and Khaled Rasslan played brilliantly down the stretch for the Comets. When all was said and done, the Comets improved to (4-0) with an impressive 6-2 win.
