A Mass of Christian burial took place March 25 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel RC Church, Jersey City, for Elda DiMatteo, 97, of Jersey City and Florida. She passed away peacefully on March 17 at Dunmore Health Care Center, Dunmore, Pa. She was the wife of the late Carmine; stepmother of Marie Williams, Joseph DiMatteo and his wife Judi of San Diego, Calif., and Dr. Thomas DiMatteo and his wife Mary of Clarks Summit, Pa.; Nonna of John Williams and his wife Roxanne, Thomas Williams and his wife Renee, Carl Williams and his wife Gina, Cara Fassett and her husband Josh, Katie Collier and her husband Kevin and Thomas Jude DiMatteo; great-grandmother of 11 and great-great-grandmother of two. She also leaves behind her nephew and nieces in Avellino, Italy, Adolfo Barile, Ernestina Barile and Rita Amodeo. Elda enjoyed traveling, sewing and spending her winters in Florida.
