Still smarting after dropping another decision, the now (0-7) Sonics had very little in the tank as they took on the (7-0) Comets to closeout the JCC of Bayonne Sr. Division Indoor Soccer regular season. Facing a juggernaut, the Sonics surrendered four goals in the first five minutes as Damian Posluszny (3 goals), Sebastian Posluszny (1 goal, 2 assists), and Kyle O’Hara (2 assists) paved the way for the Comets. Already up 4-0, the Comets met little resistance inspite of some quality efforts by the Sonics’ Sebastian Echeverry, Kailey Delauter, Mariam Rasslan, and Nicholas DePinto on defense while Drew Radil and Jaiden Garcia fought to muster some offense. Playing like a runaway train, the Comets went on to amass a total of nineteen goals with Joyce Gabreal (2 goals, 2 assists) and Jacob Kowal (2 goals, 7 assists) lending their talents to the scoring frenzy. By game’s end, the Posluszny brothers, Damian and Sebastian each racked up six goals apiece while Kyle O’Hara hit the “Hat Trick” mark with three scoring darts. Clearly ready for the “Gold Medal” round, the Comets zoomed to a 19 – victory.
