To the Editor:
The annual St. Patrick’s Day party, hosted by the 56th Street Senior Center, was a little late this year. Snow, sleet and rain caused the postponement of the scheduled date. However, it did not dampen the spirit and enthusiasm of the participants who attended on March 22. Everyone was dressed with a wee bit of green, whether it be a hat, tie, scarf, shirt or skirt.
Our Bayonne Senior Orchestra’s rendition of Irish tunes was well received by all. An afternoon of singing, dancing and socializing was very much appreciated. Once again Tony, owner of Prima Pizza, provided his sumptuous pizza and soft drinks for all to enjoy.
We seniors, collectively, extend a most sincere thank you to the orchestra members, June, Steve, Tony, Frank, Nimo and David. Ralph Salvo and his assistants deserve much praise for this splendid affair and we look forward to a repeat performance next year.
