27-year-old fatally shot in Jersey City

JERSEY CITY – Terrel Smith, 27, of Jersey City, was pronounced dead of apparent multiple gunshot wounds to the midsection of his body on March 29, according to a press release from Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez.
At approximately 5:40 p.m., Jersey City police officers were dispatched to the area of 360-2 Van Horne Street in Jersey City on a 911 call reporting possible gun shots.
Upon arrival, officers found an unresponsive male victim in a parking lot behind that location.
Smith was transported to Jersey City Medical Center by ambulance where he was pronounced dead at approximately 6:05 p.m.
No arrests have been made in connection with the shooting.
The Prosecutor’s Homicide Unit is actively investigating the case with assistance from the Jersey City Police Department.
