Funeral mass was held March 29 at St. Anne’s Church in Jersey City for Thomas D. Kiernan, 81, of Rutherford. He passed away March 24 at the Hamilton Plaza Nursing and Rehab Center in Passaic. Born in Jersey City to the late Thomas and Beatrice (Lenahan) Kiernan, he was a math teacher for the Jersey City Board of Education and a veteran of the United States Army. Predeceased by his brother, Robert Kiernan, he is survived by his sister, Kathleen and her husband Robert Kromer, nephews Michael, Brian, and David Kiernan, and a niece Mary Ellen Biedynski.
