Police seek two suspects after woman followed, robbed in Hoboken; witnesses intervene

HOBOKEN — At approximately 2:50 a.m. on Sunday April 9, a Hoboken woman was walking home when she noticed two men who appeared to be following her. As she was getting closer to her residence in northwestern Hoboken she began to run and noticed the men running behind her. Fearing for her safety, she immediately entered her building.

One of the men was able to gain entry and allowed the second male to enter. Once inside one of the men attempted to take her purse and then struck her in the face with a closed fist. She sustained bruising as a result. After a brief struggle, the men were able to take her iPhone and purse. But two witnesses saw the struggle and intervened and were able to retrieve her purse before the men fled the scene.
