DEVANEY, CORNELIUS

78, passed away on May 1, 2017, at his Barnegat residence. Born in Jersey City, he was a resident of Bayonne for nearly 50 years, prior to moving to the shore. Neil worked for Baker Castor Oil, Bayonne Hospital and the United States Postal Service Distribution Center in Kearny. He was also the owner of Joette’s Confectionary on 25th Street and Kennedy Blvd. Neil proudly served the nation as a paratrooper for the United States Army. He was a husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather and had a great sense of humor. Neil is survived by his wife, Joette Devaney (nee: Doria); his sons, Patrick Devaney (Carol), Daniel Devaney (Laurie) and John Devaney; his grandchildren, Patrick Devaney (Kelly), Michael Devaney (Erica Fischer), Sean Devaney, Ashley Devaney, Alexis Devaney, Danielle Husley (Stephen) and Jessica Devaney; his great grandchildren, Anthony Devaney, Tyler Halsey and the soon to be Lianna Rose Devaney; his siblings, Debra Jensen and Joyce Caswell (Tommy); and many nieces and nephews.
